Corrections Policy
Report an error
Email corrections@pipescopelab.com with:
- The page URL
- The statement you believe is incorrect
- What you believe the correct information is
- A source, if you have one — a manual, a specification page or a listing
You do not need a source to report an error. If something looks wrong to you, tell us and we will check it.
What happens next
We verify. Against manufacturer documentation and the live listing.
We correct. If you are right, the page is updated and its last-reviewed date is refreshed.
We log material corrections. Where a correction changes a recommendation, a specification a buying decision would rest on, or a factual claim of substance, we note it on the page.
We reply. If you left contact details, we will tell you what we found — including if we concluded the original text was correct.
What counts as a material correction
Logged on the page:
- A change to a product recommendation or ranking
- A corrected specification that could change a buying decision — head diameter, cable length, sonde frequency, locator inclusion
- A corrected factual claim in a guide
- Withdrawal of a recommendation
Not logged (fixed silently):
- Typographical and grammatical errors
- Broken links
- Formatting and layout fixes
- Routine re-verification where nothing changed
Specification drift
Manufacturers in this category revise configurations without renaming products. A camera sold under one name may ship with a different head size, a different cable length or with a sonde added or removed.
This is the most common source of inaccuracy on a site like ours, and it is why every product page states when specifications were last verified and asks you to confirm critical specs on the live listing before buying.
If you receive a product that does not match what we describe, please tell us — that report is more useful than almost anything else we receive.
Our response commitment
We aim to acknowledge correction reports within a few business days and to resolve verified specification errors promptly. Where a correction affects a recommendation, we prioritize it.
We are a small team. We would rather tell you honestly that something is queued than pretend to a response time we cannot meet.
